transfer registration email to another email

I want to ask, how to change registration email to another email in fortigate?

Hi You may open a ticket on the support and ask to transfer the registration.

 

The owner of the current account that the box is registered need to reply possitive on this request

Hello this is pretty useless feature since after market devices can still be sold which leaves devices un-upgradable/registerable. For example I have a device which is purchased from eBay but registered to an email which is no longer exists because the company went out of business. What do we do in these situations? Paperweight?
