static route limits for fortigate devices

Hi, we have a couple of 50b, they have reacjed the static route limit. Where in fortigates documentation is this figure listed. We are looking to replace them but don;t want to put in more than we need. Just wondering if one of the gurus knows waht to look for when going through the devices limits

Welcome to the forums. What you are searching for is the Maximum Values Matrix. This document published by Fortinet has the maximum values for most areas in the configuration. I linked to the one you are asking for re: V4 MR3. http://docs.fortinet.com/fgt/handbook/40mr3/fortigate-max-values-40-mr3.pdf See page 7.

Cheers for the link Bob, I' ve read that document already. Still none the wiser though. Just to clarify router>static> create new = Maximum number of entries has been reached there are 32 manual entries. Our reseller mentioned something about secondary addresses per interface, I can see from the doc 32 limit is the right value. We may move upto to the 100D but it looks like the 100 series have the same limit

Re-investigating your post, why not just put in the default route (0.0.0.0/0), and dump all the others that point to the external interface? That' s what 99% of the world does. Otherwise, you could use a routing protocol such as RIP or OSPF to populate the routing table.
