HI
i am so new to firwalls. please can some one help me to configure the fortigate 220e firewall to use specific ISP for my smtp traffic ??? we have 2 internet connections. i would like to go all my email traffic through port 1 which is our virgin faster connection.
thanks
You can accomplish this a few different ways, but the easiest for you might be to use a policy route (Network -> Policy Routes). There are a few ways to do this as well depending on your topology. For example, does only one server/device send mail from your network, or do several? If only one (or a few), should all of their traffic go out this ISP, or only the SMTP part?
I'm going to make an assumption that you ONLY want to affect SMTP traffic and you're unsure what all addresses will send the traffic. Simply add a TCP policy route with the appropriate incoming interface (whereever you're sending SMTP from), and use "all" for the source and destination addresses. Make sure to change the destination ports to "25" for unencrypted SMTP. Add the gateway for the ISP on port 1 and it should work as long as you also have your firewall policies set up correctly.
