rename the interfaces on that firewall

Hi All, I have worked on Fortigate 100D firewall. Can we rename the interfaces on that firewall? For example: change named from DMZ -> Secure-Zone. With Regards, Khemarin

The best way to work with any fortigate is to create zones for ever single interface or combinations thereof. Create zone (like external and place the required interfaces in the zone) Note the interface will only show up if they aren' t used. Cheers, Eric

Bottom line answer, no you can NOT rename a phy-interface. You can like  what as mention above  but that would require you  tear down any policies to create zones or  better option is to use aliases  in the config sys  interface for each named interfaces

config sys interface

edit  port1

    set alias  SecureDMZ01

end
