this is my first fortgate configuration, normaly I´am working with cisco asa
issue:
ping to gw does not work , but hw address is visible on the Switch
Fortigate 60d, Version 5
what i did :
1. switched Fortigate to interface
config system global set fgd-alert-subscription advisory latest-threat set hostname "FGT60D4614027069" set internal-switch-mode interface set timezone 04 end
2. defined Interface "internal1"
edit "internal1" set vdom "root" set ip 10.86.249.38 255.255.255.240 set allowaccess ping https http telnet set type physical set description "inside" set snmp-index 1 next
3. define route
FGT60D4614027069 # sh router static config router static edit 1 set device "internal1" set gateway 10.86.249.33 next end
What else do I have to do ? ( policy Settings ..)

Just FYI since you are a beginner, FortiGate does support VLANs so if you want you can use a tagged port on the switch
