pim dense mode

Hi,

My Fortinet PIM dense mode enabled do not deliver multicast  packet if it do not see other PIM dense mode enabled nodes in the LAN. Is this normal? PIM dense mode work in "push" model where it flood multicast traffic everywhere and then prune it when it's not needed. why doesn't  It run? it seems work like PIM sparse model where it only forward multicast traffic when requested.

Thx for your support! My request could be strange  but very simple: Can a Fortinet PIM dense mode enabled  send multicast packet without another PIM dense mode node in the WAN/LAN connected?

Do has It to receive "hello packet" or "state refresh" PIM packet or create adjacencies from another PIM node to be authorized to send it multicast packets anyway?
