physical interface and mac address

Hi,

I have setup like below  wan is physical interface and  it has ip address and it has secondary address 10.1.1.1/24.

from the firewall  arp shows the mac address of point to point ip's (10.1.1.2) is 1234.1234.5678 .

When I checked the mac address of 1234.1234.5678 switch says it learnt from port fa0/21 .

And mac address 1234.1234.1234 learned from port fa0/20 ,

There is only one physical connectivity for bot IP , how it is possible

Thanks

well,

switch say it learned 1234 1234 1234 from port fa0/20 => this is correct. this is right were the switch "sees" the firewall interface in your drawing.

Firewall sees the mac of the switch too , so everything shoud work fine.

Where the switch sees it's own mac depends on the hardware. Maybe it has one for all ports and just states the trunk for some reason. I wouldn't care on that so much...
