Just noticed that my setting of:
# config system settings # set gui-object-colors enable
Doesn't seem to enable per-interface changeable colors in 5.6.5 (FortiGate 300D and 100D).
I can still set colors for the FortiSwitch VLAN interfaces.
Anybody know if the functionality can be enabled somewhere else, or if this feature was dropped or is broken?

Per-interface colors have only ever been available for FortiSwitch VLAN interfaces.
Sorry, but I was using colors on non FortiSwitch vlan interfaces in 5.4.x.
Here's the KB article on how to enable them: http://kb.fortinet.com/kb/viewContent.do?externalId=FD38659&sliceId=1.
That article is for address objects, and is still valid. Interfaces aren't mentioned.
Ah, you're right. My mistake. Could have sworn I had the interfaces colored!
Guess I'll be making a feature request again.
