gmail (IMAP native apps)

Fortigate 200b In short... we have ports 993, 465, 587 open to support gmail' s IMAP settings. We have checked UTM settings and do not see anything that should be causing any issues. -On Android devices using the native app we receive a " network error" error message. -On iPad devices we receive a " timeout" error message. -On Kindle Fire devices we receive a " network error" message. -Laptops running exchange or mac mail work fine. -Gmail web interface works. These devices work fine when off of our network. I have read about possible certificate issues which could be a cause as well. I am looking for any input to get these devices working with gmail IMAP settings. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I am having similar issues with mobile devices using FSAE_Guest_User and UTM. I am not sure why they are getting blocked and it seems random. If I turn off all UTM features, the device can get to imaps and pop3s sites. Users that are not guests and have AD auth accounts don' t have this problem. This could also be that all non-windows devices are using the guest accounts and all windows devices are using AD. -JWP

You probably have " Protocol-Options" enabled on that firewall policy: Possible solutions: 1. Install the FortiGate SSL Proxy certificate on the devices. 2. Changed ports for IMAPS in the protocol-options profile. 3. Remove the protocol-options from the firewall policy.
