ftp download

I download files from ftp site, if enable virus scan under protection file, can' t download file, what' s problem?

Thanks Bob. I also want to know the session-helper function if enable session-helper service for these protocol.

I reset all session-helper service to default. I can download from most ftp site.But can' t acess some specified ftp sites. For these specified site , it' s ok if set firewall service to " any" . What' s difference for these specified ftp site?
