fortinet authentication page
Hi,
I have a fortigate 60E with fortios 5.4.1
I need to create two policies for two groups of users.
One group can always access the internet. The other group has scheduled times.
So I made two lan to wan policies and users have to authenticate on the fortigate authentication page.
This all works.
But when users for example have https://www.google.com as their home page they get a certificate warning before being redirected to the fortigate's authentication page.
In internet explorer you can just ignore the warning and then get redirected to the authentication page. After authenticating themself they get no more certificate warnings.
The problem is that in chrome they cannot choose to ignore the certificate error and you are stucked. Same problem on a lot of mobile phones with chrome as default browser.
I could ask users to set their homepage to a non https site or to the fortigate authentication page but I prefer a more user friendly solution.
Anyone knows how this could be fixed?
thanks!

So, it is not possible to call a TLS-encrypted page and then being redirected to the fortigate's authentication page without a certificate warning?
