This may seem like a silly question... but which file should I download to update my fortimail VM in wmare? When I go to the Fortinet support site, several images appear.

You can confirm on which image you should download by checking on your current system by command "get system status"
For example here: It is FortiMail VM KVM
The correct image are: FML_VMKV-64-v742.M-build0583-FORTINET.out
For example to update your FML to 7.4.2 on VMware you download this file:
FML_VM-64-v742.M-build0583-FORTINET.out
