forticlient ssl vpn and windows XP

I'm trying to troubleshoot why a XP laptop will not work with the forticlient sll vpn or the website.  Whenever we attempt to log in the process fails at 80% with a "the -12 login error) or if from the website (Permission denied)

The same user account works with a windows 7 / 8 laptop.  So we know it's not the LDAP account but has to be something with the laptop (DARN XP)

We've trying to get a windows 7 one for the user but... in the mean time i'm trying to get the current laptop to work.  The Forticlient SSLVPN is v4.0.2300.

Any help is appreciated.

I was actually just thinking that was important.  It looks like the issue cropped up around the time I updated to 5.2.3.  Looking at the release notes.. the web doesn't support XP but the forticlient still does.. (assuming the installer is 2312) which i have no clue what version that means....

From the following link (https://forum.fortinet.com/tm.aspx?m=97349) I see that version 4.4.2303 (the next one up) was available for versions 4.3.16 and 5.2.0. Since this version works for both, try moving to that. You'll more than likely find it under the downloads for the firmware versions posted.

I believe that 4.0.2303 is synonymous with 4.4.2303.
