fail-detection

hello, I am looking for a description of the fail detect parameters:
config sys interface edit <n> set fail-detect enable set fail-detect-option detectserver set fail-alert-method {link-down|link-failed-signal} set fail-alert-interfaces {port...}
I can find the syntax in the CLI Guide but no hints how to use this feature. Nothing in the KB. Can anybody enlighten me, please?

Only reference I could find is KB #FD33176.

Great, thanks for searching. Seems to be unchartered territory... This one here KB #30626 is even older. Neither one explains the ' advanced' parameters or how it works. For example, ' fail-alert-interfaces' could be those interfaces which are forced ' link-down' if a failure of the monitored interface is detected. Or something completely different.
