disconnect on sleep

We' ve got some users that refuse to disconnect the ipsec before closing the laptop (put into sleep mode), then when they get to the office, they plug into the network and are surprised when they can' t work--ipsec is connecting, when they are already in the network. I know it' s a pebkac issue, but is there a way to disconnect the ipsec when the computer is put into sleep/suspend/hibernate and not have it reconnect automatically at wake-up?

Did you check VPN->Options " Keep IPSec service running forever unless manually stooped" ? and " Start VPN before logging on to Windows" ?

If we UNCHECK this option " Keep IPSec service running forever unless manually stopped" Within how much time does the VPN disconnect if it is idle? Thanks

You can try this. A free program called Hibernate trigger will look for the system to goto sleep and run a program before it sleeps. I have never used it but I have heard of good results doing similar tasks. it can be found here. http://www.rpi.edu/~desimn/suspendtrigger/ Create a bat file with cd " C:\Program Files\Fortinet\FortiClient" ipsec quit Then save it and have it run before the computer sleeps. That might fix the problem Another way is to require a logoff with group policy (using a domain or gpedit.msc on a local xp machine) and use a bat file in the logoff script Hope that helps.

There is a bug fix in the up-coming MR5 patch-2 release, and it may have fixed the resuming issue. The new release should come out very soon (in a couple of days).
