Hi,
is there any way to disable the time zone automatic daylight saving time, or alternatively set a fixed timezone (e.g. UTC+1)?
My requirement is to have fixed local time all year round (without daylight saving), in detail I'd like to set UTC+1.
Thank you for any help.
Best regards,
Lars
Hi Lars
This post should help.
Hi,
thanks for the reply.
well yes, this other post addresses the same problem. One answer from a staff in this was, that the feature was removed.
Therefore my question: if the 'set dst disable' feature was removed, is there a possibility to set the timezone manually to not have daylight saving?
E.g. in POSIX style there is the workaround with Etc/GMT-1 to get always UTC+1 (without any local time daylight saving).
Thanks.
One workaround is to manually set the timezone to a region that uses UTC+1 but doesn't observe DST (like parts of Africa, e.g., Africa/Algiers). This will maintain a constant UTC+1 offset throughout the year. Be sure to check your system's time zone list to see which non-DST regions are available.

Hi,
thanks for the fast reply.
The timezone UTC+1 in West Central Africa would be the only one without daylight saving for that specific case. This is a workaround, but a dirty one.
Thank you.
Regards.
