what is the default spanning tree mode on fortiswitch out of the box. can someone please confirm?
Hello @nflnetwork29 ,
To confirm the default setting, you can access the FortiSwitch CLI and use the following command to display the current Spanning Tree configuration: #show switch-controller stp-settings
If you are directly connected to the FortiSwitch: #show spanning-tree
The default spanning tree is MSTP which is backward-compatible with STP and Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP). You can read more in the admin guide
In later version is also added support for per-VLAN STP.
The command to check the config and the ports in the switch: # diagnose stp instance list
What is CST that i see when I run show spanning tree?
CST stand for Common Spanning Tree and is used when you have different MSTP region or different protocol..
