changing address name

Hi, under Firewall, Address you can add and edit addresses. I remember that was possible to change name of the address scope even if address scope is in use by policy. Due some SOP I need to change dozen of those but I can' t with 4.2MR something :-). Any idea how to do this or why is deleted from features? Or I just do not remember well ... damir

I' m running 4.2.8, and with selecting a used address entry, ' edit' , I can change it' s name in the ' Name' box. It' s not greyed out. In the CLI, use:
 conf fi address
rename gate to hell // TO keyword needed here!
If you have special characters (anything not ASCII) in the name, use ticks to delimit the whole name.

v4.0,build0272,100331 is what I have and I can' t change it over GUI. Confirmed. Also, to mention: these addresses are in use.

That is 4.00 GA from April 2010. Strongly advised to upgrade to 4.2.8, build 328. As usual, read (all) the Release Notes in-between before upgrading. IMHO you can only gain with that upgrade.
