cannot hide sponsor email field in self registeration

Hello team,

I am using FortinNAC-F and the procedure mentioned in the below link is not working. Each time the user is re-directed to the self registration portal, the sponsor email field is required.

I have found the solution, in portal settings, self registration login, under sponsor input type specify "hidden". Quite confusing especially that I am disabling the whole "require sponsor" thing.
