application control
Good day all,
I will appreciate some feedback on how the application controls on fortigate work for traffic that is coming into the organization.
we have app control , filtering used for user traffic that gets to outside world. if we want to prevent attacks from outside into our organization how should app control features be used?
Thanks in advance.

Hi We use App Control (one example) to block some commands to one of our SMTP servers that doesn't need to send mails from external.

AC is primarily for controlling outbound user access to applications, based in application recognition. If you want to protect your self against attacks inbound to your network, the right way to go is with IPS.
