I just went through the same ordeal of getting the designated files off my system by going into Safe Mode. Now that I have Windows 7 back up, FortiClient updated, but does not run beyond 13 seconds. Additionally, I kept hitting the wrong icons while trying to find one that would allow me to edit this post after submitting it. Upon going into Windows 7, I meant to mention that there were more obj files in Safe Mode than I was able to view when FortiClient wouldn' t update in Windows 7.
Last night I ran scans again after restarting Windows 7. We are now up to 14 seconds a scan instead of 13. Also, the Windows Action Center in Control Panel is useless in activating FortiClient. It even shows it in need of turning on when it is in the System Tray. I should not have to do this; but I am shutting down in order to reactivate it when it comes up. Last night I could not update MediaPlayerLite without shutting down FortiClient. This is not a reflection on your company, but on Microsoft. FortiClient runs well on my Windows XP, on which Microsoft, as well as other companies who ever made anything for XP, terminated support. Yet FortiClient is one program I have that runs better on XP than on Windows 7.
Incidentally, I just learned what the yellow shield means before I went into Safe Mode. In the System Tray before shutting down the shield was yellow. My cursor over it indicated that it was doing a scheduled scan.
Now, I learned that FortiClient is interfering with programs I used before with no problem. MediaPlayerLite is one. I used that program for radio streaming with no problem until after installing FortiClient. Not only is the program failing to play a stream, but also it blocks the manufacturers home page. Additionally, it interferes with the programs update feature, requiring me to close FortiClient, causing additional problems restarting it.
