Windows 10

Ok, I have just installed Windows 10 and taking her for a test drive. Some really nice things going on here....

wow...Windows 10 is it? I heard from the next version they will all be called ' Windows' only, no numbers/release year/name anymore. Just wonder how people will differentiate between server/desktop/tablet/phone/etc. versions. Tell us more about those ' nice things' , please once you had more chance to test them.

Yep, Windows 10 it is. Some nice things from the Tech Preview build: Multiple desktops - You can have multiple desktops and have different programs stuck to different desktops (same as in Linux) Metro Apps - Can be in windows and not only fullscreen, and they can be Icons on the desktop. Start Menu is back ! You can now use CTRL-C and CTRL-V in the command prompt - FINALLY For those who are intressted, you can download it from: http://preview.windows.com

Yes I hate to say ( being a unix fan ) that Window 10 is a big and correct step. I been part of the beta program btw. It has cool features and a feel like, cough Macosx

Hehe, I like what they are doing right now, so this will be interesting to follow. And, a VERY important release for Microsoft, they need to get it right this time.

So true! Just got rid of XP and already need to prepare a suitable successor to 7. 8.x is not something the average user will easily be able to handle. 2020 is not too far away - from our point of view.
