When I look at the wifi SSID using the smartphone app "Wifi Analyzer" I see the security credentials as "[WPA2-PSK-CCMP-preauth][ESS]". What is the "preauth" all about? I've never seen this before.
Using a FortiWiFi 50E.
Thank you for any help.

Hi DonD,
Pre-authentication is the process of connecting to an AP prior to a roam via 802.1X authentication. Which means that you are authenticated to the AP, but not associated to it and sending your traffic to it.
Thanks, bmoris. That makes sense.
