What do ' VOIP trunks' refer to on the datasheet?

Hi all, Just curious to know what the ' VOIP trunks' refers to on the datasheet? The SMB FortiVoices support 8 voice trunks, does this mean individual trunks to different providers, each capable of handling several calls each (ifso does anyone know the limit?). Or does this refer to the max amount of simultaneous voip calls that can be handled at once regardless of SIP trunks?

This would refer to 8 trunk lines to the VoIP provider.... Internal extensions would be able to make 8 simultaneous outbound calls.
