Wan pppoe status failed

My wan2 pppoe status failed but before it was working properly and there's no changed in the config.

How to troubleshoot and is there a way to connect or disconnect wan pppoe?

I also checked with isp, he told me the link is fine but there's no link connect from me to the isp.

I did reset the modem and fortigate but it's helpless.

You may enable debug to check it.

 

dia debug enable

dia debug application pppoe -1

dia debug applicaiton ppp -1

before start debugging ppp, make sure wan2 synced up with the modem at 100 or 1000/full-duplex. "diag hard deviceinfo nic wan2" would show you.

I had the same issue. Once the port speed changed to 1000-Full duplex, the link came up. Thanks for the information.

That means the vendor modem side is not "auto" but hard-set to 1000/full. If you have access to the modem configuration you might want to change it to auto on both ends, so that when the router/firewall needs to be changed to something else, or somebody else inherits the network/management, it would avoid the same trouble at that time.
