WAN2-port on 110C not working

We have a Fortigate 110C with traffic running on WAN1 and one uplink port 1000 Mbit/s.

Now we want to use the WAN2-port with another uplink/switch-connection (1000 Mbit/s too). But the green/red light  diode on the port didn't work. We tried two different patch-cables. Did anybody recognize the same problem ever ?

Is the port actually enabled?

Was it set for sped/duplex?

Thank you. It was enabled to full 1000 MB on the fortigate side as well as on the switch side. It ran for 5-10 minutes and then it broke. I guess, it is a HW-related problem.
