Virtual cluster and memory based failover

Hello

When enabling memory based fail over on classic A-P HA, a fail over is triggered when memory is high on primary node.

But how memory based fail over is supposed to behave on virtual cluster?
Configuration:

  • Two physical nodes
  • Three VDOMs (including root)
    • VCluster1:  root & vd1 (on node1)
    • VCluster2:  vd2 (on node2)

Hello @AEK ,

Basically you have linked VDOMs to virtual clusters(two fortigates). Traffic on different VDOMs will be load balanced between the cluster units.

The primary unit processes all traffic for the VDOM. The secondary unit does not process traffic for the VDOM, unless If a cluster member fails, all the traffic will failover to the other unit.

In my opinion memory usage failover will not be a problem from VDOM perspective.
If memory usage is high on one device than all traffic that was reaching that device will be shifted to the other node.
