Very Slow Performance During Backup/Restore over LAN via Fortigate 2200E

Dears,

I'm facing very slow performance when performing data backup/restore between two servers one of them is protected by fortigate 2200E

When doing this action between two servers outside the firewall, speed is 480Mbps

When one of the server is protected by the firewall, the speed drops to 11Mbps

very huge difference

Note'ing that i'm in Flow Based mode and i'm not applying any Security Polices on that traffic.

Any recommendations?

Is there a firewall policy (with no UTM features selected) that specifics the server (source) traffic and is located near the top of the firewall chain?

To add on to what Dave Hall is asking, are the servers using jumbo frames or anything of that sort for the backup process? You may need to tweak the MTU sizes of the related FortiGate interfaces or re-architect your deployment to be more efficient.
