VPN tunnel

Hi All,

Trying to set up VPN tunnel for my customer via fortigates own client. And have done it via this guide:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpexjgfsD34

But I'm thinking do I need to have firmware 5.X to get this to work?

running version 4,0 now.

No you don't. IPsec VPN has been working since (at least) v2.36 (anybody?).

The steps all apply to v4 as well except for the VPN setup. In v4, you set up "phase1" and "phase2" manually. Make sure you select "Interface mode" in phase1 to be able to follow the instructions from the video!

Hint: there is the Cookbook on docs.fortinet.com. There should be one for v4 as well (an earlier version of course, but IPsec VPN was one of the earliest topics). Maybe you'll get more info from that than from the video.

aha ok, so thats might be were the issue is then, that I have not setup the phase1 and 2 manually. I'll take a look at this and search for that video in cookbook portal. Thanks,
