VPN not working on Windows 7

Hi everybody,

I use FortiClient VPN 7.0.2 on my Windows 7 computer. When trying to connect, all seems to be working fine, and no error is displayed in the logs. But I have no Internet access, and no IP address :

Everything works perfectly on a Windows 10 computer with the exact same VPN configuration.

Any idea ?

Thanks !

Hello plagoutte,

Can you confirm if the SSL VPN web portal does not have any host check feature turned on ?

Can you share the logs for the following?

Run the following command before connecting to the VPN and once you have the command set on the CLI and then try to connect.

diagnose vpn ssl debug-filter src-addr4 <public_ip_of_client>
diagnose debug application sslvpn -1

Hi Mohit_S

Thank you for your reply !

Yes, I confirm this feature is not enabled.

"diagnose" is not a valid Win 7 command :\

Here is a few more information :

- ~2 minutes after FortiClient indicates "Connected", Windows get a link-local IPv4 address (169.254.X.X)

- Once this link-local address is setup, I manually set a static IP addresse (the one indicated on FortiClient), with no gateway and 255.255.255.255 subnet mask

After applying these manual settings, all is working perfectly... until the next enable of FortiVPN.

Best regards,

PL
