We recently had some people change laptops to a newer model of laptop. When trying to use VPN to connect on these models it gives this error message
Sometimes it doesn't pop up any error message and when you login it asks for the token, when you put the token in and click connect it just loads for a while before reverting back to the login section. Would anyone know a possible fix to this issue? The laptops that are having this issue are DELL Latitude 5520.
Thanks!

Is there any host-check configuration on your SSL VPN settings? If so, can you turn it off for testing and check the behavior?
Hello METL01,
Kindly share the following details to analyze more about the configuration and debug flow and advise you accordingly,
Firmware version of both FortiGate and FortiClient application installed on users' machines
Commands below to be captured in CLI Console or Putty session,
show full vpn ssl settings
show system interface <interface number used in SSL VPN settings>
di de di
di de reset
di de application sslvpn -1
di de en
After this, initiate the SSL VPN login and wait for the debug details to be recorded.
Configuration details of SSL VPN on FortiClient application on end user machine. Screenshots would help
We will have it checked and let you know what needs to be done.
Regard,
Klint George
Isn't this error message for IPsec VPN, not SSL VPN? There is no pre-shared key for SSL VPN. Or the error message has an error?
Toshi
We get this for SSL-VPN as well.
METL01 should confirm if the issue is pertaining to IPSec Remote or SSL-VPN and post which, we can proceed further accordingly.
Hello, I am working on doing the debug but this is for SSL-VPN.
Sure, please go ahead and capture the mentioned details and we will have that checked and advise on further course of action accordingly.
Regards,
Klint George
Is there by chance an EMS server involved with this client?
Follow up question - on a fresh install of the client does it work until it randomly doesn't/ you exit out of the client int he system tray.
