VM Flash Disk

Hi all, I am trying to upgrade my Fortimanager VM to 5.0.7 to be able to support FGv5.2 I get an error message telling me to expand the flash drive to 512MB. The install instructions also tell me to expand it, but nowhere can I find out how to do the expansion. Any suggestions? TIA, Patrick

Hi, you need to increase the disk size on the VM host (ESX or Hyper-V). So shut down the VM, increase the size on your host, and boot it back up. Now you should be able upload the image. Kind regards, Oliver

Glad that fixed your issue! When it' s time for the next upgrade, its best practice to review the release notes thoroughly. For posterity I will link them here for anyone else that wants to read through them, but it does address the need to increase the HDD partitioning. I will see if we can provide additional details around that statement to point people in the right direction, without supporting the VM host :) You may also consider doing a snapshot so you can easily return to the previous known good working state. Our goal is for every installation to have a smooth upgrade. http://docs.fortinet.com/uploaded/files/1998/fortimanager-v5.0.7-release-notes.pdf Cheers!
