Upload .conf file via serial (console)

Greetings community. I have a doubt about the following topic: Is there any way to upload a backup configuration file via serial (console) to the fortigate unit?. Thanks in advance for any possible feedback.

Hi, Dont think so, these are the option via the CLI: LTFW01 (global) # execute restore config ? ftp load config file from ftp server management-station management-station tftp load config file from tftp server to firewall usb load config file from usb disk to firewall` however you could prep a USB memory stick, and perform a restore via the conosle

Hi you can' t upload the config via console like with x-modem protocol. If you format the flash disk in the boot sequence you must use TFTP to load the firmware. Cheers Eric

I believe you can also restore the config file from a USB key as well.

An USB key cannot be mounted in pre-boot only on a running machine

Yep. Good point. I didn' t see the question was for the pre-boot config load. TFTP is the only option then.
