Upgrading to FortiOS 7.4.8

i have a few Fortigate firewall running on 7.2.xx version.

Planning to upgrade to 7.4.8.

do i need to upgrade all at the same time or i can just upgrade the main FGT at our data centre and the rest at our site office at a later date ?

all are connected using ipsec tunnels

Hi @yeowkm99 ,

There is no compatibility issue between different versions of FortiGate with the IPsec. So, we can either upgrade them at same time or different time.

But please be aware of the compatibility of other devices such as FortiManager, FortiSwitch, FortiAnalyzer and so on.

can we upgrade to 7.45M first before going to 7.48M?

is it safe to go straight from 7.2.8 to 7.4.8 upgrade in one single maintenance window or we should separate ?

I'd suggest using the upgrade tool fortinet has
https://docs.fortinet.com/upgrade-tool/fortigate to know if upgrade path is needed.
plus read carefully all the changes between the versions before upgrading so you won't encounter any issues.
