Upgrading from 5.6 to 7.0

Hello,

I want to upgrade some mission critical firewalls from 5.6.x to 7.0.9 and I recall from the past about some issues with changes in the FortiOS hashing algorithm at some release which I do not remember, which made all password hashes unusable after the upgrade. Are you aware of such issues and please send me your experience or things to avoid during the upgrade.

Could you please elaborate which hashes you are referring to? Are you referring to IPsec hash algorithm or something else?

Hello,

I'm referring to the algorithm used to hash the passwords in the FG's configuration. A colleague told me that this was indeed an issue when upgrading from 5.2 to 5.4 (but you shouldn't have any such issue if following the upgrade path). So the 5.6 to 7.0 won't be impacted at all.
