Upgrading 90D from 5.0.9 to 5.2.1

Dear All,

I have FortiWifi 90D currently working version 5.0.9. I am trying to upgrade the firmware to 5.2.1 but not successful. I made hardware test and all passed. Does anybody can advise me? Thank you.

What happens when you try to upgrade it? Are you getting any errors?

Please double-check the firmware version you are using to do the upgrade.

If you have a FortiWifi 90D then the firmware should be FWF_90D-v5-build0618-FORTINET.out and not FGT_90D-v5-build0618-FORTINET.out.

Firewall can not be boot up after upgrading the firmware.

I have checked and confirmed that the firmware is FWF_90D-v5-build0618-FORTINET.out not FGT.

Connect a PC to the Console Port and post the output while boting the Fortigate.

I have successfully upgraded the firmware. It was taken few more times for normal upgrading. I have to wait over 15 minutes. Thank you for the advise.

Connect a PC to the Console Port, then use a terminal application (eg putty) to capture the output while you boot the Fortigate.
