Upgrade Matrix

Hi all, We have put up an upgrade matrix on our website to easily see the required upgrade path for FortiOS. This is all based on the release notes of every version. http://www.securelayers.com/cms/en/support-mainmenu-23/fortinet-firmware/upgrade-matrix Any comments, suggestions, etc. welcome of course. Cheers, Eric

I' m new to Fortinet and I' m trying to set up our FortiGate 310Bs, FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer box. One issue I just ran into was that when I updated the FortiGates to MR3, the Manager box could no longer communicate. From support, I received an email saying that I need to wait for an updated Manager firmware that should be out in the next couple of weeks. Is there a Matrix for something like that available anywhere? I read through the release notes and could not find mention of this fact anywhere. Thanks.

The official rule is the FortiAnalyzer and FortiManager should be at the same or greater release than your Fortigates. In practice, you can sometimes fudge things when you are looking at similar patch levels. For example, I' m using 4MR2 Patch 5 on my Fortigates, but FortiAnalyzer 4MR2 P3 or P4 seems to work fine for now. There is no P5 or P6 for the FAZ yet. You should also know that MR3 is not considered a stable release yet. It' s not recommended for production boxes.
