Trying re-configuring FG100A on Console but not booting

Dear Forum,

I am trying to re-configure FG100A through console cable as Admin pwd and IPs are not known. at consle (Putty)  it is displaying only two lines :

FG100A (19:06-02.28.2006) Ver:04000003

then it halts.

Please suggest how can I move further

That is a really old device. I would probably suggest buying new. If that isn't possible, considering the age it may be a hardware fault.

Were changes made that caused it to go from working to not working?

It looks like it's not booting the firmware - flash crashed or fw damaged somehow. You can try to reload the firmware from the boot monitor; on the console, hit any key when booting to get into the menu. You will need a matching firmware image file (*.out) and a TFTP server, the serial connection to watch and a TP cable for the data. Older FGTs required a LAN connection on port1 only - YMMV.

(strange, I thought I'd already posted this a couple of hours ago. Getting old.)
