Troubleshooting disconnecting WLAN

Hi, We have several customers running FortiAP 220B at their sites. They report that they get disconnected from the wireless time to time. I am a novice with Fortinets products at the moment. I am looking for some tips to where to look? Have anyone else had these issues? For example we have a FortiGate 110C running onv 4.0,build0521,120313 (MR3 Patch 6)6 with the latest firmware for FortiAP FAP22B v4.0-build223. They mention it when you run by them an not when it happens. Not sure what look to for in the Eventlog. Anyone got some pointers to give? Going to start to look for a troubleshooting guide and I am not expecting anyone to solve it for me :) Just need some tips and pointers.

Looking in the Eventlogg I see client-authentication with just a few seconds apart. This is with only 6 users. In our AP Profile we have both 802.11na_5G on Radio 1 and 802.11ng_2.4G set on Radio 2. No special settings, just Access Point. No Rouge AP Detection. It is set to WAP/WPA2-Personal with AES encryption.

Please get the client debug output using following command for the problematic client. FWF60C3G10002476 #diagnose wireless-controller wlac sta_filter 7c:c5:37:77:ac:dd 2 (replace station MAC address) FWF60C3G10002476 # diagnose debug enable

Hi selvam, Thanks for the reply. I entered the commands in the CLI, but where to I get the output? I tried " diag debug flow show console" that I found in http://docs.fortinet.com/fgt/handbook/40mr3/fortigate-troubleshooting-40-mr3.pdf But it didn' t help. Edit: Think I am using the wrong MAC. How do I find the station AP MAC? Tried looking in the GUI and telnet to the unit, but unsure what commands to use to find the AP MAC. Edit2: Ran diagnose wireless-controller wlac -d sta in the CLI. But the MAC that I see, aren' t they the clients wireless network card? Tried this command and I got the MAC. diag ip arp list But I still don' t understand where you can see the output.

Ok, FG100C3G11605342 # diagnose wireless-controller wlac sta_filter 00:09:0f:f2:03:d2 2 Set filter sta 00:09:0f:f2:03:d2 level 2 FG100C3G11605342 # diagnose debug enable So what I understand from the troubleshooting .pdf I should get an output. But there is none. What am I doing wrong?

When the station with MAC address 00.09.0f:f2:03:d2 try to connect or disconnect, you would see the debug on the device console or telnet session. This debug is only for client activity. Please also send us the FGT100C configuration and wifi client detail Wireless chip deatil OS detail laptop make thanks Selvam
