I am using a handout FortiGate unit, that still have several months left on a support contract.
How can I register that unit under my Fortinet account and purchase a new support contract, when the current one expires?

You open a Customer Services ticket on the Fortinet Support portal and ask to transfer this device to your account stating all its details, Fortinet will contact the current owner and if she/he confirms the transition, the device will appear under your account in a day or two.
What else can I do if the previous owner is not responding?
