does it display a pop-up windows/error or something or does it get stuck at 48% and just it ?

Hi, thank you for your reply.

It's stuck at 48%, probably waiting for me to input the token, but the token field is empty.

When I click on Disconnect, the token field momentarily shows up before the disconnect completes.

is it IPsec or SSLVPN and are you using FortiAuth for MFA ? do you know ?

L.E. i would suggest installing the latest visual c++ redis also if you havent already and/or a reinstall of FortiClient also, maybe with an earlier version if you have.

It's SSLVPN.
MFA (token) is sent through SMS.
It works on my other PC with different Windows 11 build and different Forticlient version.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Forticlient, but still did not work.
I wanted to install an earlier version but unfortunately I do not have one.
Any hint where I can download an older version (i.e  7.0.8.0427) ?

funkylicious

have you also tried a install of the visual c++ redis ?

Yes. Installed visual c++ v14 and restarted PC.
Still no token field after receiving SMS.

When I click Disconnect below screen shows token field but when I enter the received token, it is stuck and VPN is not available (second sshot)

And when I click Disconnect again, it get's stuck at Disconnecting and I need to end FortiClient in Task Manager

usually, you could/should download earlier versions of FortiClient from support.fortinet.com but it requires that you have a product registered and valid support.

on the other PC maybe you are lucky and can find the installer for 7.0.8 in C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Temp\FortiCLIENTVPN.exe

thank you. I don't have registered product nor valid support as I am only supporting clients who have Forti.
and unfortunately, I no longer have that in my TEMP folder as I regularly clean up my TEMP folder.
thank you again for all your replies.

you are a legend!

I got to install 7.0.8.0427 from your link and it works now.
Additionally, I am now able to save password (saving config and modifying some values)
7.4 no longer allows that
