Temporarely exceeding logs/day - What happens to the data?

Hello!

We have temporarely exceeded our Logs/Day quota and have ordered new licenses to accommodate for the greater Logs/Day.

But, in the meantime, what happens with the log data that exceeds the licensed GB/D? Is it disregarded and not used in reports?

I was unable to find any information regarding this on Fortinet

It would be nice to share the answer for others in the community. This is how the forums work.

FortiAnalyzer shows the message "You have exceeded your daily GB Logs/Day within 7 days" when within the last 7 days FortiGates exceed the licensed per-day allowance for logging. As long as that limit is exceeded FortiAnalyzer will show this warning message. However the logging and processing on the FortiAnalyzer is not affected and Admin users are only being warned.
