Telemetry connection disconnects when RDP is performed with a different user on the server.

Today I encountered an issue. I am using FortiClient EMS, and I installed FortiClient on my servers to be able to use the AV MW SB profiles.

However, the following happened.

When I connect using the user1 account I used to install FortiClient, there is no problem. However, when user2 RDPs to the same server, the EMS Telemetry connection automatically disconnects and redirects to the invitation code entry page.

I found a case related to this issue on the Fortinet community, as linked below.

However, I didn't understand how to configure it. Could you help me?

I'm not sure ZTNA is designed for multi-user server (I mean where multiple users connect simultaneously).

But I'd like to understand more this scenario if you don't mind.

  • When you try with user2, is there any other user session that is still opened on the server? I mean with user1 or other
  • If so, try close any other session and open one single session with user2 to see if the behavior is different
  • Are you using any AD group tag? If so, remove it from the config and redo the test
  • Which FCT and FCT EMS versions are you using?

Hello AEK,

Thank you for your response.

When connected as user2, user1 is also connected at the same time, meaning there are two active sessions.

I also experience this when I log out as user1 and then log in as user2. The telemetry connection is interrupted when another user connects.
