Support inter-VLAN routing by managed FortiSwitch units

According to the doc below, switch-controller-offload-gw enable will allow clients to use offload IP addresses as default gateway. So does this mean this settings will create a default route from FortiSwitch to FortiGate with FortiGate's VLAN ip as next hop gateway address? The doc explicitly mentions to "Enable switch-controller-offload-gw on a single VLAN interface." , does this mean that all other VLANs that need to route back to the FortiGate will use that same VLAN interface mentioned above as gateway?

config system interface

 edit <VLAN_name>

 set ip <IP_address_netmask>

 set switch-controller-offload {enable | disable}

 set switch-controller-offload-ip <IP_address>

 set switch-controller-offload-gw {enable | disable}

 next

end

Hi HRouhi,

I'm really sorry we haven't been able to get you an answer! This feature seems to be brand new, so not a lot of our team are intimately acquainted with the many setups that can be created around it.

If you open a Support Ticket and supply information about your environment, we can get you the help you need.

Kind regards,

Stephen - Fortinet Community Team
