Support for FortiClient VPN 7.4 for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (not with hacks etc.)

Can someone from Fortinet indicate when Ubuntu 24.04 will be supported.

Ubuntu 24.04 LTS was released on 25 April 2024

Well it looks the

forticlient_vpn_7.4.3.1736_amd64 release has fixed this finally!

The latest GA versions of FortiClient 7.2 and 7.4 support Ubuntu 24.

There have been some issues with WiFi connection, systems with Docker, system with outdated nm and nmcli, specific cases of split tunneling which all of them will be addresses in the next release.

It maybe supported but there are no instructions for Ubuntu 24.04 on

https://www.fortinet.com/uk/support/product-downloads/linux

the links on

https://www.fortinet.com/support/product-downloads#vpn

which I for the the free VPN only client do not work out of the box i.e. get

Selecting previously unselected package forticlient.
(Reading database ... 228953 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to unpack .../forticlient_vpn_7.4.0.1636_amd64.deb ...
Unpacking forticlient (7.4.0.1636) ...
dpkg: warning: unable to delete old directory '/var/log/forticlient': Directory not empty
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of forticlient:
forticlient depends on libappindicator1 (>> 0) | libayatana-appindicator1 (>> 0); however:
Package libappindicator1 is not installed.
Package libayatana-appindicator1 is not installed.

Yes you can download random packages to fix this

wget http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/universe/liba/libappindicator/libappindicator1_12.10.1+20.10.20200706.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb

etc. but for a security product trusting these random files isn't very reassuring.

Hence requesting proper support from fortinet rather than hacks .

Please build a proper 24.04 compatible .deb package file. that can be installed without hacks.
