Support contract ends => What about IPS?

Hello,

 

we are going to buy a pair of 2 new Fortigate 900D boxes to replace our old devices.

Unfortunately, the Fortigate support/ intrusion prevention subscription for our old firewalls will end next month. Now I´m asking myself what will happen with IPS?

  • Will IPS continue to work with old IPS signatures?
  • Will IPS completely be deactived?[/ul]

    Here's a quick response.

     

      IPS will continue to work with the last updated signatures

     

      IPS will not de-activate

     

    It's suggest to  backup  the  signature DB and FortiOS b4 you support contract expires so you a "just encase" and need to reformat and reinstall.
