Software Inventory

Hi,

 

we are evaluating ems (6.4.3 build 1600). The endpoint management works so far, but the software inventory is empty.

Send Software Inventory is enabled at the Endpoint Control.

 

In the managed profile only Vulnerability Scan and VPN is enabled.

Client is 6.4.3.1325 on macos.

 

Any idea why we dont get the Software Inventory?

    • Make sure that the client version (6.4.3.1325) is fully compatible with the EMS version (6.4.3 build 1600). Although they seem to be from the same release series, there might be specific patches or updates required.
  3. Endpoint Client Health:

    • Verify that the endpoint client on macOS is functioning correctly and not encountering any errors. Restart the client service or the macOS device if necessary.
  4. Network Connectivity:

    • Ensure that the macOS client can communicate with the EMS server without any network issues or firewalls blocking the communication.
  5. Logs and Reports:

    • Check the logs on both the EMS server and the macOS client for any errors or warnings related to software inventory reporting. Logs can provide insight into what might be failing during the inventory collection or transmission.
  6. Manual Trigger:

    • If possible, manually trigger a software inventory scan from the client and see if it reports back to the EMS server. This can sometimes kickstart the automated process.

    • Ensure that both the EMS server and the client are up-to-date with the latest patches and updates. Sometimes, bugs in older versions can cause features like software inventory to malfunction.

    • If none of the above steps resolve the issue, consider reaching out to the vendor's support team. They can provide more specific guidance and might be aware of any known issues with your current software versions.
