Dear All,

Anyone can tell me how we can size a fortigate to fit on a network. any tool which we can use to do this or which metric we can use to calculate like we are having 75 users which fortigate model need to chose or if we are having 1100 users which model will be appropriate.

There's no tool that i'm aware of  and this would be haphazardly to size by number of users. You need to look at all of the blew plus some

what are the  users doing

what UTM  features if any

do you plan on supporting Wireless AP

If the above is yes, how many

do you plan on hosting any of the following ( dhcp server, dns server , slb vip, vips, etc, )

do you plan on ipsec or sslvpn

do you plan on FSSO/RSSO

do you think you will make a cluster, virtual load sharing cluster

do you plan on more than one vdom if so how many

what type of interfaces support ( 10/100/1000  heck 10 gige )

do you need any GRE tunnels or IP tunnels

do you plan on using  any logging methods ( forticloud, disk, syslog, fortianalyzer, etc.. )

do you plan on fortimanager  in the bear future

enabling of DYNamic routing protocol ( OSPF BGP )

uplink bandwidth

multi-homed with  gateway-detection
