Session "helper=sip" and "helper=20" and state "inherit_sockport"

Hi!

is Master session information showing "helper=sip" applicable to Proxy-based (ie. ALG), or Kernel-based (SIP Session Helper) or both types?

And, what does 'state=' specifying "inherit_sockport" value mean?

Hi Alex,

helper=sip means the session uses session-helper sip

helper=20 or helper=24 means the session uses SIP ALG

Hi @nweckel ,

Can you answer: what does 'state=' specifying "inherit_sockport" value mean?

Hello Alex,
"inherit_sockport" means that the session is inheriting the source port from the original connection. Do you have "preserve source port" (or fixedport) configured?

Hi @nweckel ,

no, but the IPPOOL object is of type "one-to-one" - is that an implicit "preserve source port"?

to be clear, these are for Master session, and not for Expectation sessions established for subsequent RTP traffic - correct?

Also.. What's significance of "20" & "24" numbers and what's the functional difference between them?
