How long can Fortigate survive with loss of Fortimanager connectivity?

Hi,
If you are using FortiManager for configuration then FortiGate will have no problem to work as usual. If you use FortiManager also for updates and rating, then FortiGate will have problems to update its databases and rates websites so users might have problems to access internet (you might avoid this).

Thank you Adrian. So in theory, the FortiGates can run indefinitely without connection to the FortiManager or FortiAnalyzer?

Basically they can..just - as Adrian wrote - if you also use the FMG as Server for proxying FortiGuard Updates and databases some UTM services would stop working or nio longer wor corectly without the FMG.
